It seems as though POPcinema has been cleaning out their vaults over the last couple of months, and in the process, they've been providing the fans with all of the titles that we've been teased with over the years. We had to wait for what seemed like decades to see Chantal and I Was a Teenage Strangler, and thankfully, both have been recently released. Today's film is another one that fans have been anxiously awaiting for quite some time now, and the wait is over: An Erotic Werewolf in London finally hits stores next month.
I think that it should go without saying which movie this one is paying homage to, and the storyline follows a female lycanthrope (Anoushka) who looks for bed partners during each full moon. Now, instead of merely eating them (pardon the pun), she transforms into a werewolf and takes a bite out of whichever poor lesbian she happened to be "dining" with at the moment of orgasm. A London reporter (Zoe Moonshine) interviews her about her deeds, an American couple (Misty Mundae and Ruby Larocca) soon find themselves involved with the shapeshifter, and yes, Seduction Cinema mainstays Darian Caine and Julian Wells also show up for some lesbian hijinks.
So, was it worth the wait? Well, that all depends on what you're looking for from the film. This is not another one of Seduction Cinema's comedic spoofs, as the filmmakers opted to instead focus on mixing together a little bit of horror with a whole lot of exploitation. It's far from a horror masterpiece, but it does have enough of a storyline to keep things moving along and the plot is perfectly acceptable when compared to other offerings from the exploitation / softcore genre.
Yes, that's the real attraction of this offering: softcore lesbian sex and a couple of solo scenes. Obviously, you fine readers should already know how you feel about watching seventy minutes worth of hot women going at it with one another and with themselves, so I'm not going to dwell too much on this aspect of the film. What I will say is that it's always nice to see some of Seduction Cinema's finest together in one film, and I'll also say that it's about damned time that Anoushka got a sizable role. Why that lady never really seemed to catch on is beyond me.
My only real complaint about the film comes to us courtesy of the special effects. Now, I'm familiar with Seduction Cinema's offerings and I wasn't expecting cutting-edge special effects that would rival Hollywood's latest, but what bugged me here was the way that either a motion trail or blur effect was used in damned near every other scene. It's not bad enough to completely obstruct your view or turn you off to the film at hand, but it sure annoyed the piss out of me seeing those same effects pop up every time something interesting started to happen. Maybe that's just me, though.
As far as the DVD release, Seduction Cinema has put together yet another damned fine release. In addition to the customary trailer vaults and liner notes, you also get a commentary track, an interview with Ruby Larocca, and as an added bonus to this already sweet deal, you even get an entire bonus film (Night of the Groping Dead) on the second disc. Say what you will about the film at hand, but it's almost shameful how Seduction Cinema's DVD releases consistently outdo the "real" films from the big boys when it comes to bonus features and whatnot.
Overall, An Erotic Werewolf in London is a fairly entertaining softcore piece, and fans of Misty Mundae will love it even if she isn't the star of the show (remember, this one was made before she really caught on as being the centerpiece of Seduction Cinema's lineup). It's far from a perfect film, but fans of Seduction Cinema's previous spoofs will enjoy it. 7/10.

Lately I haven't been feeling these movies, but
this one was fantastic. It leaned a little more to
the hardcore side of things in some scenes as
well, which was nice. And of course, Misty was as
funny and beautiful as always. 9/10
