NARRATOR
So, all was arranged for the very next day.
In a room in the palace where the Princess lay,
There were courtiers, of course, the King was on hand,
And up in the gallery, a seven-piece band.
Our hero was there, keen to begin, but
There was one other suitor, small, old and thin
But what made him stand out was the worrying thing
Under his arm, tucked lovingly in;
He carried a small brown violin.
So, they gave the word for the band to play.
The King beckoned the soldier to have his say.
The King said:

KING
You are a doctor, yes… an MD?

NARRATOR
The soldier replied

SOLDIER
Army Medical Corps, actually.

KING
Hm, many have tried, you know, with no success.

SOLDIER
Oh, I can cure her alright, don't you be distressed.

KING
Very well.

NARRATOR
Said the King.

KING
Tomorrow, yes, yes.
Come back tomorrow and treat the Princess.
