Four sisters reluctantly return home to the country to visit their ailing, embittered father over Christmas. Their father believes that his current wife is poisoning him, but local physician Dr. Lindsay and the sisters disagree. A storm floods the roads and disables the phone lines, and soon one of the family is found murdered. One sister tries to run through the woods to reach Sheriff Nolan for help, but someone clad in a poncho and carrying a pitchfork is chasing her. She returns home, only to discover more murders. The prime suspect is her stepmother, but was it someone else?
