Sammy holds a wild anything-goes bachelor party for his best friend Chuck at a bungalow in the Hamptons. Things go horribly awry when the three exotic dancers hired to provide entertainment for said bash turn out to be ferocious demonic succubus vampires with an insatiable taste for male flesh. --IMDb

I popped in Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned for one reason and one reason only: the DVD cover. That is a cover that promises a horror flick with plenty of T&A, and that is exactly the kind of movie that I was in the mood for today. Besides, with a title like that, how can you go wrong? So, I kicked back with what I hoped would be the perfect b-movie for a lazy Sunday, complete with loads of blood, plenty of boobs, and maybe even a beast or two. What I got was about seventy minutes of "meh."

The storyline is simple. Sammy (Gregg Aaron Greenberg) is Chuck's (Joseph Riker) best man, and as such, he sets up a nice bachelor party in the Hamptons so that the two guys and their friends can have one last party before Chuck ties the knot with his old lady (Trina Analee). They bring along their buddies Gordon (Joe Testa), Paulie (Sean Parker), and The Fish (Gelu Dan Rusu), they leave behind their gay lover (Lloyd Kaufman in a hilarious but brief cameo), and they set out for a night of booze and broads.

Broads? Oh, yeah... it wouldn't be a proper bachelor party without a trio of strippers, and they come to us courtesy of Monique Dupree, Zoe Hunter, and Kaitlyn Gutkes. Unfortunately for our leading men, these three gals are actually vampires, and they plan on making a meal out of our heroes. The least important characters are killed off in a matter of moments, the heroes are left to deal with the big-boobed baddies, Chuck's girlfriend shows up to make things even more hectic, and... that's really about it.

The movie has a rather short running time, but the problem is that it still feels padded. The first half of the movie is nothing more than the guys goofing off and joking around with one another, which wasn't exactly horrible to watch as they did have some good chemistry together, but it was nothing to get excited about. Imagine hanging out with a couple of your buddies around a pool with some beers on the weekend, and that's sort of what you get here - only, you're watching other people having the fun.

Then, the strippers show up. Monique Dupree is, as usual, hot as all hell and Zoe Hunter isn't too terrible on the eyes, but Kaitlyn Gutkes is... well, I'm a nice guy, so let's just say that there is a definite "but" there. Your opinion may differ, but looking through the Netflix reviews, I don't think I'm the only one who thought that way. So, you've got one lady on one end of the "hotness" spectrum, one gal in the middle of it, and one on the far end of it: guess which one gets all of the screen time? Yeah, if you guessed the one at the ass end of it, you'd be correct. None of the ladies are great actors or even acceptable ones, so their looks are really all that they bring to the table, and considering that the unattractive one eats up all of the screen time, well... I was a little disappointed.

Finally, with about twenty minutes left of the running time, we get down to business and the ladies start killing people. There is a little bit of low-budget splatter (read: acceptable gore, but nothing to write home about), there is an amusing scene with Mrs. Dupree in which her overflowing bosom quite literally eats a man's face off, and that is about it. The zombified - excuse me, "vampirified" - victims turn on the survivors, the vampire vixens are also battling the heroes, and it's really nothing more than tame action sequences. The aggressor and the victim will roll around on the ground in a mock battle to the death, they'll throw a few swings at one another, you know the drill.

Let me break in for just a second here to say that perhaps these battles would have been better if, I don't know, we could have actually seen what was going on. Proper lighting was not high on the list of concerns for this film, and there are a handful of scenes that were shot outside with nothing more than a porch light (in the distance) to light them. To say that it's hard to tell what is actually going on at times would be an understatement.

It is all wrapped up with a twist that is downright dumb (apparently, if you get teased enough in high school, you'll magically transform into a vampire), and then we hit the credits. Actually, the credits were rather humorous: stick around and watch them if you dare pick this movie up. Still, humorous credits certainly aren't something that would give me cause to recommend a movie, and I won't be doing it here.

I wouldn't say that Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned is a horrible film, but it's not a very good one either. There are some humorous moments courtesy of a pack of heroes that have good chemistry together, there are plenty of boobs (even though you probably won't want to see most of them), and there's even a good gore sequence when one of the vampire ladies is killed with the help of a freaking garden gnome (yes, I got a kick out of that). However, whether you're in the market for a vampire movie, a movie that is filled with gore, a film that will deliver plenty of boobs, or even if you're just looking for a cheesy b-movie to kick back with while turning your brain off, you could do a lot better. 4/10.
