A porno flick that pokes fun at Sarah Palin, the would-have-been first female vice president of the United States... who saw that coming? Well, if you know anything about the porn industry, you can probably count yourself amongst those numbers. Produced by Hustler Video and starring a porn starlet who looks remarkably similar to the woman that she is emulating, Who's Nailin' Paylin? is an "intimate" look at the woman who was gunning for the second highest chair in the government, filled with her goals, her talents, and yes, even a look at her beloved family. Oh, and it also features some jokes along with plenty of threeways, cumshots, and rimjobs.
Even by porn standards, the storyline found here is paper-thin. It revolves around Serra Paylin (Lisa Ann), the dimwitted governor of Alaska who has dreams of doing even bigger things in politics. When a Russian tank crashes right outside her home in the remote Alaskan wilderness, she decides to work on the old "foreign relations" with the Kremlin by inviting the two soldiers into her home, having a few drinks with them, and then blowing and banging both of them. Naturally, this sex scandal becomes a hot item in the news, and as Paylin prepares for the press conference where she will defend her actions, she reminisces about her past scandals (with a "younger her" played by Sindee Jennings). Meanwhile, her husband is banging the intern (Holly West), Evan Stone is teaching his Alaskan college students that dinosaur fossils are actually the work of Satan, and it all wraps up with a threeway lesbian scene between Paylin, Hillary (Nina Hartley), and Condi (Jada Fire).
Nobody would mistake them for identical twins, but I was shocked at how similar Lisa Ann looked to Palin (well, minus Ann's 38DDs). Most parody films, especially those of the porn variety, are content to find any random scrub, slap a wig on them, and call it a caricature of whomever they are supposed to be imitating. Not so here, and I have to give Hustler credit for actually finding someone who fit the bill in the looks department. I was also shocked with how well Lisa Ann pulled off the comedic side of her character. You wouldn't expect grade-A acting chops from a woman whose filmography includes such classics as Big Ass White Girls, Anal Junkies on Cock, and Mother Suckers, but it's true: she actually pulled more than a few laughs and had good timing with her delivery. I doubt she'll be moving up into legitimate Hollywood releases, but she was far better here than what I expected. Hats off to Evan Stone as well, who is delightful as always in his minor role.
The actual sex scenes are your standard fare, and besides the fact that this would go over well with those who have a fetish for women in glasses, there's really nothing out of the ordinary to be seen. Lisa Ann takes on two fellows at once, Holly West is involved in some "backdoor politics" (I swear they included this long anal scene just to use that joke), Lisa Ann takes on another bloke in a very short scene, Sindee Jennings takes a "lesson" from Evan Stone, and it's all capped off with the aforementioned threeway lesbian scene. The straight scenes all follow the traditional formula of "you suck me and then I'll fuck you before busting on your face", while the lone girl/girl scene is content to abide by the usual "I'll kiss you while she eats you, and then we'll switch off" line of thinking. There's nothing new here, but you probably already knew that by seeing the Hustler logo on the DVD cover.
Getting back to actual plot, what little there is, I have to admit that I would have liked to have seen just a little more parody and a little less sex. I obviously knew what I was in for before throwing this in my player and I certainly knew that I was going to be seeing a handful of hardcore sex scenes, but I'm spoiled to the blend that Seduction Cinema has been giving us for years in their parodies. They are good about giving up "the goods" while at the same time throwing in plenty of laughs, but based on the two films that I've seen, Hustler is content to use these jokes merely to string things along. It's a shame, really, because this film delivered a couple of solid laughs... but given the time, it could have delivered so many more.
Overall, Who's Nailin' Paylin? is decent enough by porn parody standards. I wouldn't recommend that you drop what you're doing to rush out and purchase it, but if you're in the mood to see a Sarah Palin lookalike in a hardcore porn flick and if you also want to poke a little fun at the Republicans, go ahead and give it a shot. It's not an instant classic, but it is enjoyable enough. 7/10.
