This is the story of Melvin, the Tromaville Health Club mop boy, who inadvertently and naively trusts the hedonistic, contemptuous and vain health club members, to the point of accidentally ending up in a vat of toxic waste. The devastating results then have a transmogrification effect, his alter ego is released, and the Toxic Avenger is born, to deadly and comical results. The local mop boy is now the local Superhero, the savior of corruption, thuggish bullies and indifference.

The movie that really put Troma on the map as a great provider of entertaining movies. It has everything you need in a movie: awesome "hero". Loads of T&A. Lots of blood. Inventive kills. Comedy. Love. And some kick-ass villains, ie, Cigarface.
Melvin Junko, a janitor at the local health club, is quite the dweeb. The jocks there decide to play a joke on him, resulting in the classic scene of a tutu-wearing Melvin kissing a sheep. The lights come on, and all the jocks are laughing at our poor Melvin, who runs away... straight out a window, into some toxic waste. This transforms our dear boy into the Toxic Avenger, who's out to clean up the crime in the city, and get revenge on the cocks who did this to him. And along the way, he even meets a blind chick who falls in love with him.
Some of this movie is a bit dated, such as the health club and some of the clothes. Nothing too major though, so all is forgiven. The execution methods, especially in the director's cut, are excellently done.
The Tox Box, or at least this first in the series, deserves a spot in any good movie collection. Nothing wrong with this flick, perfect in every way. 10/10.
