In the last part of the series thus far, we learn that Martin Brody (the hero of the first two movies) has died of a heart attack, brought on by fear of the shark. Sean, his youngest son, is killed in the opening moments of this movie. Ellen, Martin's wife, comes up with the conclusion that the shark from the original somehow spread the word that this family is made up of shark killers, and this shark has come to kill off the remainder of the family... I wish I was making this up. Anyway, after Sean bites it, Ellen and her oldest son Michael go for a trip to the Bahama's, and the shark follows them. Michael is a marine biologist who works with conch shells, and the shark finds him. Michael and his buddy, Jake, tag it with a tracking device and try to learn from it, but gasp, the shark ends up hunting them.

As far as acting and gore goes, this movie was decent enough. But the insanely lame storyline just killed it for me. Sharks who communicate in order to kill off an entire family, then one of them knows the family has went on a vacation and follows them from New York to the Bahamas? I know I asked for a bit of originality in my last review, but that's just wrong.

The work they did on the shark itself in this one was just pathetic. In the first two, it at least looked nice, but in this one, it looks like an over-sized bath toy I used to have as a wee little tyke, only the shark here wasn't as detailed. The sound effects they used for the sharks vocals were hilarious. They were ripped straight from the old-school He-Man cartoon... remember He-Man's battlecat sidekick thing, and the roar it would make when it transformed? That's the sample they decided to give to our poor shark. This movie, yet again for the series, suffered from too-slowness. We saw a whopping three kills; one in the opening scene, one a few scenes from the end, and one in the last scene... and the movie runs for ninety minutes, so you figure up the pacing of it based on that.

1/10.

Hah, what a joke. How could they make this film? The second was bad enough, but this just takes the cake of a terrible rebirth of a dead series. And for fuck sakes people, JAWS died in the first one.

As much of a Jaws fanboy I am, this films is shit. The first 10 minutes are good, it's just too bad the film didn't continue in that direction. They should have mad eit like the novel, have the shark possessed by someone using voodoo........dumb?...yes, but more believable than the shark knowing that the Brodys were in the Bahamas and some how found its way to their location.
