I think the soundtrack fit in perfectly with the
movie, in the sense that it didn't fit. It was the
whole oddity of the movie that made it fit. Not
only that but Donnie Darko is set back in the 80's
or early 90's? can't remember which, but most of
the soundtrack was actually music from that time.
I walked away after the movie wanting to have that
music played in my life.
