It's time once again for the yearly top ten list, but I'm doing things a little differently than most critics. The only criteria for making the list was that the movie had to have been released this year (either theatrically or direct-to-video) or it had to have made its American DVD debut this year. My reasoning for the latter option is that I very rarely catch a movie in theaters: the last time I did was for 2005's Land Of The Dead, and prior to that, the "honor" regrettably went to 2000's Hollow Man. Also, unlike many of the other critics out there, horror is my true love; there may have been some fine comedy and action releases this year, but there honestly weren't many that made me care enough to check them out. This list wasn't limited to horror, but after putting it together, it turned out to be almost nothing but (one of the lone exceptions, ironically enough, was my personal favorite of the year).
