I can't remember the actual process of writing songs a lot of the time
Like, I don't remember being there when I was writing the songs
A lot of the time
'Cause it happens so, like-
I mean I can kind of remember songs, like
I can remember being at my dad's house writing "Shadowboxer,"
And starting it off and getting really excited and feeling like
I used to love to play my own songs for myself a lot
I don't really do that anymore
Um, but I remember loving to play "Shadowboxer" by myself
Because I really felt I- It was-
It gave me a rush when I played it 'cause I thought it sounded good
Um, and I can remember the situations when I was writing those songs
Because I was kind of in a I- I kinda had to be writing songs
Um, but ever since then
I'm not trying to write songs anymore
So they're just kind of coming very gradually and I don't-
I'm not taking notice of when I'm writing them
For me, it happens very, very, very, very, very gradually
And then- and then, like, the-
Like the words happen very gradually
Just while I'm walking, taking a lot of walks and, um
I'll be thinking about words
And I won't even realize I'm thinking about it
And then all of a sudden
I'll have a verse, and I'll sit down at the piano
And then a song will come out
And- and then I can't remember how I got there
