A little kid sits alone, first day of school
Minding his own business, doing what kids do
An older boy says, "Hey, that's my spot"
In a quietened voice, the kid says, "No, it's not"
Older boy gets angry, says, "What did you say?"
Raises up his fist at the young kid's face
Outta nowhere on shaking knees
Another first day kid says
"Fight me, leave him alone
He didn't do a thing, he did nothing wrong
Fight me, yeah, you might be tough"
He was scared as hell, but he put 'em up
Said, "I won't stand here, let you hit my friend
And watch him bleed, so fight me"
Older boy says, "Well, what do we have here?"
Our little hero is nervous, but shows no fear
As punches fly, he hits the ground
Another kid in the back yells out
"Fight me, leave him alone

Fight me, yeah, you might be tough"

Then the first little kid watching all of this
Finds the courage to stand and raise his fist
He stood there and waited for the fight of his life
Those brave little boys standing by his side

I'm not scared anymore and I've had enough
No, I won't stand here, let you hit my friends
