I
I've never performed this next song in person
And, umm

Yeah, it's a very, it was an extremely difficult song for me to write
And I put it off, and I put it off

My biological father passed away almost two and a half years ago
And it was post album, so I haven't had a song about it
And I actually really struggled with the time

He was schizophrenic so I dind't have the best relationship with him
And in honor of him I started my own charity where I partnered with a place called Cast Recovery
I went to sober living for like over a year and they did so much for me

So I partnered with them
And with that we were able to provide, um
Mental health care for people that can't afford it
And it's called the Lovato treatment scholarship
And with that being said

Another artist on my album, her name is Sirah
Do you guys know who that is? she's- Yassss!
She's amazing, she's gonna blow up
She is on song called Waitin for You, on my album
And she's been one of my best best friends over the past couple years

Anyways, she went through a similar experience with her dad
And over fathers day I was an emotional wreck
Umm the way that it happened, I didn't have closure
So, with this song, I kind of faced my fears a little bit
Just once again, went with Laleh, and wrote this song
And it's one of my favorite songs on the album
This song is called Father
And I've- we've never played it in front of and audience before
So you guys at Spotify, are very very special to me
