In the metropolitan underbelly, a tribe of unruly and anthropomorphic cats, the Jellicles, approach their yearly ceremony. The tribe must elect one of their ranks to achieve spiritual enlightenment, ascending to the Heaviside Layer and reincarnating as a new life in the Jellicle tribe.
