Hans and Rietje are old and are in an old people's home. Looking back on their lives, they experience certain episodes from their relationship again. Due to his truck driver profession, Hans was a long way away, which made Rietje think of her own future and tried to get into the film business. Tensions between the two resulted in a prison sentence for Hans and adultery by Rietje.
