Shortly after the events of the first movie in the series, Brigitte (Emily Perkins) is on the run. She's going solo, considering Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) died in the first movie, and she's now running from place to place, trying to avoid being found by "him", and trying to keep the wolfsbane in her system so as not to turn into a werewolf herself. Things are going about as well as expected, until she overdoses on the wolfsbane and has some sort of reaction to it, which makes her pass out, outside in the snow. When she wakes up, she's in a rehab clinic, and the people running the place think that the wolfsbane is being used by Brigitte as some sort of recreational drug, so it's taken away from her. She meets a kid named Ghost (Tatiana Maslany) who is at the clinic with her grandmother, who was severely burned in an earlier accident, and things just go nuts from there. While Brigitte is having to put up with abusive staff at the clinic, snotty patients, and the threat of being found by "him", she's also getting closer and closer to turning into a werewolf, and it's only a matter of time until the last bit of wolfsbane in her system is gone...

Excellent movie, and just a bit better than the first. Yes, you read that right, the second movie in the series is better than the first, in my opinion anyway. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of Ginger in this movie; she only shows up for a few scenes in which her ghost talks to Brigitte, with a grand total of about five minutes put together. However, Brigitte keeps the movie going quite nicely on her own, so Ginger being four oh four really didn't hurt the movie as much as I'd have thought it would. Ghost, the kiddie companion of Brigitte, is also great in her scenes, and a wonderful addition to the movie.

The storyline flows very nicely, even though the actual werewolf scenes are again kept to a minimum as in the first movie; however, the great storyline keeps things interesting throughout the film. You're constantly wondering when Brigitte is going to change... what Ghost is going to come up with next... who is it that Brigitte is running from... what's up with Ginger... a whole slew of things to keep the movie moving. Some shocking things about the characters are revealed, twists which I never saw coming. Shocking the audience is always a good thing as long as the stories are believable, and both such events did indeed happen.

As I mentioned above, Brigitte (Emily Perkins) really keeps things going with the movie. Everything involved in the movie, the main storyline and the sub-plots, revolve around her; but since she does so damned good in her role, things work out smoothly. Even Ghost (Tatiana Maslany) did extremely well in her role, and I normally hate children in any sort of film other than the movies I'd pick up for my daughter. That is partly due to her acting skills, but also because the directors didn't feel the need to "clean up" the storyline in any scenes involving the kid, which is quite the rare event now-a-days.

Just like in the first movie, the kills and gore are also kept to a minimum. Normally, this would hurt a horror flick, but the storyline here saves everything, as I keep mentioning. We see a grand total of two half-off-screen deaths, one actual kill, and a severed dogs head. That would be it for the kill quota, so if you're expecting the typical story-action-kill-story-kill formula that is so predominant in most modern horror, you'll be sorely disappointed with this one. The werewolf effects are quite similar to the original movie in the series, so if you've seen that one, you'll know what to expect here. If you haven't seen the original, then be prepared for a bit of a different werewolf look than what most films show, but it's a look that definitely works out.

Overall, highly enjoyable movie, and fuck the critics who said that this one is ass compared to the original. 9/10.

I wouldn't say it's quite as good as the first, but still an awesome flick. I'm glad that Perkins finally stepped into the spotlight here, and she did a great job carrying the movie. 8.5/10 Also, SPOILER: I personally think that the werewolf hunting her the whole time is Ginger's boyfriend from the last film.
