Our gang of three guys and two ladies decide to head up to an isolated cabin up in the woods for some good partying and such. However, on their first night out, a guy comes out of the woods pleading for help; he has some sort of disease which is making his skin rot off. The gang doesn't want to catch whatever it is that this man has, so they lock him out of the cabin. Some more events happen, and his blood is spread all around the outside of the cabin... and anyone who is exposed to his blood catches the disease as well. The kids try to survive, not catch the disease, and get some help for their dying friend throughout the course of the movie. But their paranoia about catching the disease starts to catch up with them, as it starts to seem that nobody can trust anybody...
Fantastic movie right here. It seemed to play out as if Troma had produced Evil Dead, but replaced the supernatural stuff with some good old-fashioned diseases instead. By that, I mean that it has all the gore, violence and offbeat humour that you'd expect from a Troma release, which is always a very good thing. It also reminded me quite a bit of Evil Dead for some reason... no specific scenes, just the overall feel of it; being alone out in the woods, in a cabin, battling some unknown force, watching your friends die off one by one. But then, maybe it was just me.
The storyline flowed very nicely, even with the rather slow start to things. It always left you guessing as to who would die next, or what sort of thing would happen next. With the exception of the blonde guy's fate, nothing was really predictable throughout, which again, is always a good thing. And speaking of all that gore, it was very nicely done. They really didn't skimp with it in any parts, and the scenes requiring it were quite abundant. The people who caught the disease would die off slowly; first, it'd just be some minor scratches on them, and as time goes on, their body would rot away, causing massive bleeding inside and out. Lots of blood puking, loads of gaping wounds, and plenty of enjoyment.
Lastly, even the acting in this film was handled nicely, which shocked me considerably due to the typical "group of young adults" theme that was going on. Jeff (Joey Kern), in particular, was awesome in his role as the wise-cracking goofball. Then, there was the old, bearded store-owner... sadly, he only got a few minutes of total on-screen time, but that guy was classic as hell, with some great lines. Even the ending with him turned out to be one of the most surprising that I have seen in quite some time, and resulted in a great way to close out the film.
Not much more than can be said without giving away too much, but suffice it to say, this movie definitely deserves a viewing by any self-respecting horror fan. It's that damned good. 10/10.

College is out, now its time for partying. Five college kids set out to a remote cabin in the middle of the woods to party all they want. Then a mysterious disease breaks out and they soon become infected one by one. Along with killer rednecks and attack dogs, their chances of survival are always being knocked down. With getting praise from the "almighty" Peter Jackson, Cabin Fever must be a great horror flick.
There's not much more that I can say about this film that MMMDI hasn't already said. Cabin Fever is one hell of a low budget film, it's that simple. My favorite quality about this movie is the acting. The cast did a great job. Most horror films you see today have terrible casts, or the script has a mix of comedy in it and it fails horribly. But this is different. You can almost feel what they are going through. The cast doesn't necessarily have a ton of experience. The most experienced actor on the cast is Rider Strong (Boy Meets World). Going into the movie I wasn't expecting much, but as soon as it ended I was very impressed.
Another thing I loved about the movie is the look. The all around atmosphere is something you'd find in old school horror flicks like The Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a bit of Night Of The Living Dead. The look at feel made the movie. Much credit also goes to Eli Roth who directed the film. More films from him will definitely be highly anticipated. There's tons of gore in this movie and it adds an ever nicer feel to it.
Top notch movie here. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested. It's not only about a killer disease though. There are antics with killer rednecks and corrupt police. Nice little twist of an ending too. I don't want to explain anything else because I'll ruin it. The bottom line is that Cabin Fever is a great movie and possibly one of the best modern horror movies I've seen. There is some comedy mixed in, primarily from the asshole of the film - Jeff, but it plays off nicely. There are no particularly painful scenes to watch...with the exception of the scene with the deer. I found the deer scene kind of...useless and cheesy. The rest of the movie plays out great. Like MMMDI said, any self-respecting horror fan will like Cabin Fever. 9/10

I think the story line was okay... Acting was good
for a horror film... I was sort of into it. So, I
think this film was alright.

Wait wait wait, are we talking about the same
movie here? This is one of the lamest movies I've
ever seen. It's good for a cringe or two, yeah,
but really nothing that I'm going to want to see a
year later. Worth skipping, actually.

Here's an idea -- let's take a piece of shit and a
bucket of blood and film them for ninety
minutes...oh, wait -- they already did that and
called it "Cabin Fever". This was a waste. This
was a laughable waste. This was one of the worst
attempts at horror ever, until I saw his next film
"Hostel". Yuck.

This movie is great. I can't believe how many
people don't like it. It has one of the coolest
endings in a movie ever. Well, at least to me.

a lot of people don't like this movie, but I also
don't think they watch it with the right mind.
this movie is hilarious! from the very beginning
with the shopkeeper and the rabid kid, its just
great. also, I used to watch "boy meets world" so
it was nice seeing rider strong get spattered with
a good amount of blood.
might be a
little bit of a spoiler, but I think the blonde
guys fate is a little reminiscent of the black
mans fate in night of the living dead, and I liked
that a lot.

Ok, I seriously hated this movie. I saw this in
theatres and when it was over, was so pissed. I
just wanted my money and my time back. *Other movies that have made me feel this way:
Hostel, Signs, Unbreakable, Primeval, Blair Witch
Project - all shit!* Mind you, I love horror
comedies. This one just sucked IMO.
