With their lurid connections to blood, sex, and death, vampires remain a perennial staple in the world of horror cinema. This collection presents a trio of films revolving around those endlessly terrifying but fascinating bloodsuckers. F.W. Murnau's silent classic NOSFERATU (1922) is the original DRACULA adaptation, taking Bram Stoker's novel and turning it into a haunting, shadowy fever dream powered by Max Schreck's frightening portrayal of the rodent-like vampire Count Orlok. In the B-movie classic DEAD MEN WALK (1943), a heroic doctor battles to save his niece from the bloodthirsty clutches of his evil twin brother, who has returned from the dead as a vampire. And the made-for-video CHAIN OF SOULS (2001) ends the proceedings with a gory, metaphor-rich comment on the trappings of Hollywood as an aspiring actress falls prey to a sadistic cult masquerading as a film production company.
