A picture perfect middle class family is shocked when they find out that one of their neighbors is receiving obscene phone calls. The mom takes slights against her family very personally, and it turns out she is indeed the one harassing the neighbor. As other slights befall her beloved family, the body count begins to increase.

Very excellent flick, couldn't recommend it enough. It mixes comedy with kills, which is quite hard for most movies to pull off for some reason. Ricki Lake, shock, does quite nice in her role, as does the kid from Hackers.
Nods to quite a few nifty things in here... the kids are watching Blood Feast, the porn used in one scene is of Chesty Morgan, and L7 even makes quite the appearance, with almost a full song played live ("Gas Chamber", for those curious).
And of course, we have mumsy. She rocks in her role, very nice acting, especially in the court trials. Nice choice of kill methods, along with plenty of them.... well, what more could you want?
10/10, one of those rare perfect flicks.

Love, love, loved this movie. This is the perfect
example of John Waters ability to sometimes walk
that line between the grotesque and the
mainstream. Kathleen Turner and Sam Waterston are
at their comedic bests, and Ricki Lake and Matthew
Lillard are absolutely hilarious as the children.
10/10...pussy willows...

My favorite John Waters flick. He got everything
right on this one. I even own the laserdisc.
BTW: Laserdiscs kick DVDs ass. The only
problem is, you have to flip the album. But,
picture quality is far superior.
