Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story I just saw this one recently and I have to say I wasn't all that impressed. I can say that it definitely parodied better than most in our generation, but in terms of how much I laughed, I really didn't find myself even chuckling too often. I thought it was a very intelligent parody, but it seemed better as a nod to the origins of rock and roll than it was as a comedy. Maybe it's just me. Although I will say I liked the jokes about "my guitar softly whimpers" and the Bob Dylan lyrics.

The Eye
The Eye Wow, ok that was a pretty long post argument. Anyway, I agree with pretty much anyone who has seen this remake that it is god awful. I laughed at the supposed "scares" because they were so textbook. 2/10.

Hellboy
Hellboy I thought this was pretty good. I had pretty good acting and some exciting action, and although I never read the comics, I thought it was a pretty good comic book adaptation. Better than Fantastic Four or Daredevil I assure you. 7/10.

The Village
The Village I thought this was a good one. It was marketed wrong as another scary movie and when more became revealed to the viewer it turned into a societal commentary more than horror. That's probably why a lot of people were turned off by this, but if you watch it without the hype as a horror flick, it will most likely be more enjoyable. FYI Nirrad, Lady in the Water wasn't very good in my opinion but Unbreakable I felt was really good. The former was a sci-fi flick, the latter a pseudo-superhero movie and I thought it was a good movie. The Happening looks really good to me.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull I think I'm in the middle with this movie. It had the parts of a great Indy movie but in some ways I felt it fell short, mainly by trying to do a lot at once. There were a lot of things going on in each scene, old characters returned while some new characters didn't get enough development (namely Mack and Ox) and the ending kind of turned me off. Overall it was fun and I wouldn't mind watching it again, but it didn't do it for me enough to earn a spectacular rating. 6/10 from me.

The Last Winter
The Last Winter This looks awesome. I am definitely renting this when I can.

Speed Racer
Speed Racer Hey, the orange creme isn't that bad. Although I will say thank you for this review, I had absolutely no intention of seeing this and I think it will garner little in the way of praise. I would like to call this year Jizzfest '08, what with certain movies (eh hem Iron Man) blowing me away, the Dark Knight coming up, and others that I am hoping will be fantastic.

Iron Man
Iron Man What can I say about my new favorite comic book movie? Absolute genius in every way. No one was remotely slouching in their roles, it was greatly witty, action-packed but not overladen, and at some parts just serious enough to be meaningful. I love spidey, he's my favorite, but Iron Man just took the lead in the film department.

Homeworld
Homeworld That seems like a really big forest. Do they ever leave it or is that the "planet's" make-up?

Superhero Movie
Superhero Movie Man I'm surprised it's not as bad as Meet the Spartans. I really wish these movies would stop being made but until teenagers and idiots stop watching them they'll never leave.

Team America: World Police
Team America: World Police Whoops I meant Chris not Joe.

Team America: World Police
Team America: World Police Oh man this was a fun movie from beginning to end. There was a lot to be said for the songs and their meanings, the quick quips that you have to catch (he's heading southeast on bakalakadaka street!) and the utterly ridiculous threats from Joe. I give this one a 9/10.

Jason X
Jason X This is absolutely one of my favorite comedies ever. Some classic moments are in here that really made me laugh with the amount of terrible idea/acting that took place. 8/10 for its comedic value.

The Mutilator
The Mutilator Oh man nice, I didn't even see that until you told me.

Cloverfield
Cloverfield This is quite the controversial movie. I still think it was a great movie, it had a a few flaws and things that one can squabble about, but overall I felt that the monster movie genre was somewhat refreshed with this outing. I know I'll probably get flak, but that's just my opinion. I've seen the old third-party perfect camera angles before where everything feels so set up and focused all the time, this one made me feel like I was either watching a real attack on tape or there myself. It was both fun and frightening, especially the subway scene.

The Ruins
The Ruins Well I guess I don't have to wait to watch the movie to see what supernatural threats there are.

The Mutilator
The Mutilator I'm sorry but I have to ask. Nirrad, what the hell is your picture from? It's creepier than an Asian ghost crawling down stairs.

Now You See Me, Now You Don't
Now You See Me, Now You Don't This sounds pretty good, even though the review isn't too detailed : P.

Carver
Carver Damn man those kills look horribly awesome.

Billy Madison
Billy Madison I have to be honest, aside from Chris Farley and a couple of specific scenes I didn't find this movie to be that funny. I kind of cringe whenever he makes that stupid face in the scene with the penguin, and overall his early work reminds me of Jim Carrey's: when he doesn't try so hard he's much funnier. For Carrey this is evident in Ace Ventura, I feel that he is much better not overacting or being too grandiose with his actions or script.

Bugcrush
Bugcrush It was really well done, the actors all played their parts excellently, and the pacing and atmosphere were great. The only thing I felt a little uneasy about was the ending, which my gf felt the same about. I kind of know what happened but anyone care to enlighten us?

Monster
Monster I have to agree with this one. It had such incredible acting and the directing was great. Especially the scene where she killed the first guy, that was painful to watch even as a male. Ouch.

The Crow
The Crow I really felt like this movie had a much more good vs. evil thing going than Spawn, which was anti-hero drama at its finest. I think the mere fact that he was able to come back and avenge his girlfriend's humiliation makes me feel much more strongly for the character. 8/10 from me, I'd kick their asses just as hard as he did.

Zombie
Zombie I really want to see this now. Those zombies look hella awesome.

Meet The Spartans
Meet The Spartans Then I am no fool Edd. I would never pay money to see this, but I did find it another way and watch it. My only intention of seeing it was for reviewing, and a little just to prove how stupid and ridiculous it was. If you value an hour of your time, never ever see it unless you intend to win a bet of worst movie ever.

Cloverfield
Cloverfield Usually I agree with one of two of the reviewers on this site, namely because I know a decent amount about film but they know more. However, given that I feel the acting was believable, no one made any horribly unintelligent decisions (who wouldn't try to say someone they're in love with?) and the action was well-paced, I have to say I had minor to no complaints about this one. Sorry blue, but I give it a 9/10.

Cloverfield
Cloverfield I have been on the fence about this one but I'm going to see it tonight with the lady. One thing though waxtadpole: some people haven't seen the movie, so writing what happens in the end kind of kills a part of the movie.

Little Miss Sunshine
Little Miss Sunshine I couldn't figure out the type of humor in the movie. I guess it was dark or ridiculous humor, but sometimes the humor didn't necessarily strike me as hard as I thought it should. The end scene with her dance was pretty good, but the rest I kind of felt sorry for the family as a whole, which might have been a plot device.

Death Proof
Death Proof I heard Reservoir Dogs was good from one of the guys who watched "Death Proof" with me (he hated this one too) so I think Tarantino is more of a hit or miss director for me. Pulp Fiction was good, Kill Bill was alright, but I was honestly disappointed. Anyway, good talking to you. Whether I agree with you or not I have a lot of respect for your opinions on movies.

Death Proof
Death Proof I saw this last night and I'm sorry but I have to utterly disagree. Almost the entire film was a conversation, and a boring one at that. Most of the dialogue was so mundane me and my friends have better things to discuss; the discussions were so ridiculously commonplace it was upsetting to watch. 15 minutes in a car talking about weed and boys? Really? Another 15 minutes talking about whether or not they want to take the car out? Come on, Tarantino was trying very, very hard to be artsy with his overt use of talking. By the first half of the film I wanted those girls to die, just to have something happen in a freakin GRINDHOUSE movie. Not to mention, what the hell happened to Elizabeth Winstead's character? Do we just assume her and Jasper have hot cocoa and talk about life? Nah, this one, I am sorry to say, was trying too hard to do too little. Aside from the deaths and suspense on the car chase, this one was a snoozefest. 2/10.

Daredevil
Daredevil I apologize about the way I went about the last comment. Yesterday wasn't a good day I guess, so sarcasm wasn't breaching. However I am a fan both of sarcasm and a Deadpool movie, he rocks the shit in Ultimate Alliance.

Daredevil
Daredevil If Griffinheart is the best reviewer on this site, then bluemeanie, MVMMDI and Tristan have me fooled. This movie is full of B-rate actors for the most part who simply are physically fitting of the roles but otherwise have such "deadpan" performance that I was hoping it would end soon. Very little about this movie said "whole-hearted;" they seemed to have taken today's bandwagon of superhero movies and said "hey, I can do this too." Unfortunately for most people, they were wrong.
