We start out with Paul in a space station in the year 2127 (or roundabouts). He has a robot who he has programmed to open the infamous box and bring Pinhead and his minions into the shuttle, in order to put an end to them once and for all. He summons them in, he's about to put his master plan to work... and some army people bust in and arrest him. Whoops. He then tries to explain his story, the story of the box, to a female army person, in the hopes that she will let him finish what he started. He takes her back to the 18th century, when his ancestor created the box, and explained why. That took some explaining, then he fast-forwards to 1996, when another ancestor of his is working on another box. That took a good chunk of the movie, and finally we return to Paul in the space station.
Some very nice scenes and quotes were to be had here. The classic "I am pain" line from Pinhead, as well as the groovy "Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?" quote. Then the scenes themselves... normally, Hellraiser flicks are notorious for the cenobites that accompany Pinhead in his missions. Unfortunately, they were a little slacking in this one. We have a demon dog, which I do believe was seen in previous movies in the series, but it was nicely done here. Then, we had Angelique... she wasn't much of a cenobite / demon for most of her scenes, just a normal demon disguised as a chick. Her true form is exposed in the last part of the movie, but it was a bit of a letdown. Lastly on the cenobites, we had the twins. They were pretty... unique, but I'm not quite sure if that's a good thing or not. It was definitely interesting, I'll give them that. Sadly, Pinhead doesn't get much time in this movie other than a very few lines here and there, and two or three main scenes. Angelique gets most of the on-screen time in her non-demon form.
However, with all that said, there was some nice killings to be had. The body count capped off at around eight or so, and most of the kills were nicely done, save for a few. The scenery that was used for Pinheads realms were also very nicely put together.
Nowhere near the best of the series, but not horrid either. 5/10.

I don't think it was that bad, most of the movie is not in space at all...

this one was the worst of the Hellraiser series... but it still wasn't that bad, it fills in alot of holes

I'm not sure what the hell i was thinking before. Three years later and I enjoy the shit out of both Jason X and Leprechaun 4

And again, I find myself recanting from my 18 year old self. This was the first good sequel the series offered.
