Amon: Apocalypse Of Devilman

Demons have returned to earth and the people are told to kill everyone they think is a demon. Miki (the girl of Akira's life) is thought to be a demon and is killed by a mob that broke into her house and also killed her little brother. Once Akira sees what these people have done, he transforms into Devilman and they all suffer for their act. After Akira's revenge is complete, he hides himself to be alone with the only remaining part of Miki, her severed head. In the meantime, Amon (said to be the most powerful of the Devil Clan) is out taking care of every demon that crosses his path. In the end, Devilman and Amon battle it out to what could very well be Devilman's last battle.

The animation on this is fantastic. The characters have a different look than the originals Go Nagai had created in the early 70's, which is in no way a bad thing... Devilman actually looks a lot more evil than he did before. The characters all kept the same approach on things as they did in the original series and it stuck to the same story line. Which was simply Devilman had to fight off demons. In this case, it wasn't to save Miki, since she was killed. But more of a revenge for her. The gore and violence is a plenty through out the entire film. If you're a fan of the old television series or the two volume set Manga released, this is a must for your collection.

Final Conclusion: 10/10
