In the current trend of franchises and trilogies, there always the rule of thumb that the third movie in a trilogy has to be better than the sequel and somewhat "outdo" the original. You see that in successful trilogies such as Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones and you see how that fails in such trilogies as Terminator and Star Wars (Episodes 4-6). With the ever so popular Matrix trilogy, we have a prime example of a little bit of both scenarios. But can the Wachowski Brothers make an excellent final chapter in an excellent trilogy? And not to mention, can the actors handle it? I say, yes.
Many people bashed Reloaded when it came out, saying it was too philosophical. Personally, I thought it was a fine action/sci-fi movie. When Revolutions came out, people said the same thing. Ignore the philisophical stuff or whatever you think was put in there and look at the movie as a whole. Revolutions starts out where Reloaded left off. Neo is stuck someplace between the real world and the Matrix, while Bane (infected by Agent Smith) is resting up after a failed counter attack by the Logos. Trinity, Seraph and Morpheus then venture into the Matrix to retrieve Neo from the Merovingian, who controls the area between the real world and Matrix. Here we have a good storyline and wonderful fighting scenes from Trinity, Seraph and Morpheus. Neo then comes back to join the "revolution". After seeing the new and less improved Oracle (since the original one died in production), Neo realizes that he must use one of the ships to venture into the machine world for some reason. On the other part of the movie, Sentinles begin to move towards Zion as they prepare for war. About 45 minutes of the movie is sci-fi based warfare between the two sides. The action is wonderful and any sci-fi fan would eat it all up. Acting is superb too. So, lots of stuff happens, then we have one of the best fight scenes ever between Smith and Neo. In the end, great ending that leaves you with many thoughts in your head. If you actually understood
To sum it all up, we have lots of great action in this movie, like all the others. However, this kind of action is much more sci-fi like. Before, all the action was in the Matrix. Now there are hardly any scenes in the Matrix. So if you're a sci-fi fan then you should like it. But you don't have to be a sci-fi fan to like this movie. The acting is superb, the action is great, and the storyline isn't something cheaply put together. This is the storyline that has been forming since The Matrix in 1999. I'm not a sci-fi fan myself in particular, but I am into the Matrix trilogy and Revolutions puts a stunning end to the trilogy. My only gripe with the movie is that in comparison with the other two, it is the weakest one. 8/10.

The action was boring in this one. And the storyline had too much of a bible-esque message.

The 2 matrix sequels are so bad, they killed the first movie for me. This is pure garbage.

I agree with bury me alive. The first one was briliant and the the sequals killed it off.

I liked them all. They could have made both sequals into one movie though, but i think the trilogy is great.
