Heather catches Barry cheating on her at their prom, so she jumps in his car and takes off; luckily, Barry is able to run to the car and jump in. They have a bit of a discussion, when Sean and Jenny pop up out of the backseat; they had been back there getting stoned. So now we have our foursome, a bit of character is given to each. Barry is a typical male chauvinist, only interested in sex and such. Heather is a blonde bimbo, quite clueless and dumb. Jenny is a tomboy smartass, and Sean is a geek. With all that out of the way, our group is driving down the street and hit a roadblock, so they turn down an old dirt road and get lost. While attempting to turn around and find their way back out, another car comes from out of nowhere and runs into them, rendering both of their cars useless. With that in effect, our kiddies try to walk around and find help, and instead, find our lovely psycho family. In this go-around, we have Vilmer, the main baddie who happens to have a robotic leg. His significant other, Darla, is a redneck'ish realtor who is the most normal of the bunch; talking nice to the victims, with nothing but cruel intentions. W.E. is a chock-full-of-historical-quotes guy, who seems to be around for comedic value only. And lastly, we have good ol' cross-dressing Leatherface.
Throw in some typical running scenes, a bit of torture, and a lot of yelling, and that's the movie. Maybe it's just me, but the plot just didn't work out. Leatherface was busted down to a minor supporting role, with all of his scenes consisting of either him dressing up in drag, putting on makeup, or holding a victim for someone else to abuse. He never has been very vocal in any of the movies in the series, usually yelling a lot and such... but in this one, they just went overboard. He yells like a whiny bitch, constantly. Every couple of seconds, he lets out this high-pitched, feminine screech that kills any sort of fear anyone could ever have of him. Definitely a letdown there.
The rest of the cast is pretty split down the middle. W.E. is the star when it comes to goodness, as his quotes and various actions are some great scene-stealers. Vilmer is alright, entertaining for the first half of the movie, but he just goes downhill as the movie progresses. Darla is the same way, starts out great, and just gets annoying quickly. All of the teenies are pretty shit in the acting department, no shocker there. I was also majorly disappointed in the lack of kills to be found. Sean bites it by being run over by a truck, but all we see is the truck driving back and forth; no body or gore shots whatsoever. Barry assumedly dies, but this is never shown; he's thrown into a room and never seen again. Heathers death is the most interesting, but again, this is not shown, only implied, and that would be it for the body count here. Again, disappointing.
Overall, only recommended if you're a huge fan of the series, and even then, I'd think twice before renting this. 3/10.

I feel comfortable calling this an absolute 0/10, and I'm about 25 minutes in.
