Well, at least it tried to spice up the franchise.
After two entries of wretched, contrived, mind-bendingly awful Danielle Harris & Co., Michael Myers finally got a reprieve with "The Curse of Michael Myers", a fresh and somewhat bizarre spin on the whole ordeal. The film takes place six years after the last film and it says that Michael was kidnapped and protected by...you guessed it...a group of...EVIL DRUIDS? Yeah, I said evil druids.
Whom is Michael targeting this go around? The family that adopted Laurie Strode. Oh, come on. That's reaching if I've ever seen it. And whom re-surfaces? Tommy Doyle (Paul Rudd), Laurie's babysitting charge from the first film. Dr. Loomis is also back, hot on Mike's trail -- this was also Donald Pleasence's final appearance as Dr. Loomis or as any character -- he died during the production of the film. At least he got to end his character in a film that was slightly better than the previous two entries. However, it wasn't THAT much better.
I give this film credit for trying to take the franchise down a different road. However, the ending leaves a lot unresolved and makes us feel like we didn't understand anything that was going on. It was nice to see Paul Rudd in one of his very early performances, and it was nice to see Michael Myers get a little darker, but the whole supernatural element was still in full effect -- not to the same extent as the previous two, but it was still there. I wish this film had been given a better director. Maybe that would have made a difference.
In summation, kudos for the attempted originality, but it was a little too far fetched for my tastes. This film tanked in a big way at the box office, which is why I assume there was some hesitation with "H-20". I think they finally realized what I knew all along -- Jamie Lee is what they needed to get the franchise back on track. This film was better than the previous two, but still nothing to write home about. Then again, what is? 5/10.

Funny true story about this one I forgot to mention -- Danielle Harris, who played Jamie in the Parts 4 & 5, wanted to reprise her role this final time, but then she asked for..........$5,000.00..............and Dimension turned her down. FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS?! That is small potatoes in Hollywood, so that just goes to show you how bad she really was and how badly Dimension wanted her out of the franchise. I find it hilarious.

You're a bundle of knowledge, aren't you? I actually didn't mind this entry into the Halloween series. It had all the necessary elements for a typical slasher, and at least they tried to do something new with the series.7/10

I liked this one, It was one of the first Halloween movies that I've seen. I believe it was the second one I watched. I still remember the Tv Spot it had, at the end it had Michael swinging the ax at the mother. I just had to see it after that. I also enjoyed the gore in the movie, it was a lot more brutal than the others......oh, and Paul Rudd....PAUL! Even though he doesn't like the movie. I suggest checking out the Producers Cut as it makes more sense, but also makes it less of a Halloween film, still great though. You can find one off of ebay, it's unofficial, but I think you owe it to yourself to check it out.

I'm torn. Plotwise the Druids thing was horrible, but visually, this was the best Michael Myers ever captured, shot so it looked like there was NOTHING beneath the mask. Absolutely inspired.
